COLLECTION OF AGENCY FEES

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 49 of the Labour Relations Act (No. 14 of 2007), the Minister for Labour:

  1. To deduct every month the sum of two per cent (2%) in respect of agency fees from the basic wages of his/her employees who are covered by the terms and conditions of the concluded Collective Bargaining Agreement and are not members of Kenya Petroleum Oil Workers Union.
  2. To pay within ten (10) days of the deduction, the total sums deducted by crossed cheque made payable to Kenya Petroleum Oil Workers Union into the union’s account No. 0102004941500 at Standard Charters Bank of Kenya Limited, Moi Avenue Branch, Nairobi.
  3. To make returns to the Registrar of Trade Unions at P.O. Box 40326-00100, Nairobi, within one (1) months of making all the payments to the trade union and to that organization.

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 49 of the Labour Relations Act (No. 14 of 2007), the Minister for Labour makes the following order:

To deduct from the wages of each unionisable employee of the following companies, who is not a member of the Kenya Union of Journalists and Allied Workers but is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the union and the companies, a sum equal to one per cent (1%) of the employee’s consolidated wages per month-

    2. he Standard Group, Nairobi;
  2. Deductions to commence within thirty (30) days of receiving the order;

INVITATION OF PUBLIC COMMENTS

PURSUANT to regulation 21 of Environmental (Impact Assessment and Audit) Regulations, the National Environment Management Authority, (NEMA) has received an environmental impact assessment study report for the implementation of the proposed additional bulk vegetables oil storage tanks on plot No. 492B at Shimanzi, Mombasa by Gulf Stream Investments Limited (GSIL)

The proposed project will include construction of additional eleven tanks which will have a total storage capacity of 25,500M3. GSIL imports vegetable oil from Malaysia. The vegetable oil is received at the port of Mombasa and stored in the above ground storage tanks (ASTs) before being delivered or collected by the customers.

The project infrastructure will include:

  • Tan farm with eleven AST and bund wall.
  • Two oil water separators.
  • Booster pumps.
  • Hose exchange area.
  • Service area, pipe work (product lines, hydrant pipeline for fire water, oil pipeline for conveying air used in cleaning for product lines, hot water pipeline for conveying hot water for heating the product to so as to remain in liquid state).
  • Retaining wall, block work wall and access road.

The project anticipates the impacts and mitigation measures set out in the gazette.

The Proposed project will involve establishment of a timber products manufacturing factory which will involve manufacturing of timber products for domestic and industrial construction. The structures to be put up comprise of go-downs, factory offices, boiler house, workshops, stores, log yards, water and fuel storage offices, borehole, waste water pump and staff housing.

The proposed project is located on LR No. 4807/2 and 4807/5 in Njoro Division of Nakuru District.

The project anticipates the impacts and mitigation measures set out in the gazette.

The Proposed project involves development of gold course and estate and its accompanying infrastructure, which will include a gold course 70 town houses and 24 ranch houses in an area of about 337 hectares.

The proposed project is located on LR No. 425/56 and 425/58 respectively in the north of Naivasha Township.

PURSUANT to regulation 21 of Environmental (Impact Assessment and Audit) Regulations, the National Environment Management Authority, (NEMA) has received an environmental impact assessment study report for the implementation of the proposed expansion of Kipipiri/Muhonia Water Project in Nyandarua South District.

The main aim of the project is to abstract water from the Aberdares and install water mains that will eventually be used to distribute potable water to community members’ in Loreshwa, Wanjohi and Malewa locations of Kipipiri Divisions in Nyandarua South District. The water will be sourced from the Chitoni River which originates from the Aberdare Forest at Wanjohi/Getehi Location in Kipipiri Division. This will include.

    • Construction of intake.
    • Construction of transmission and distribution mains.
    • Construction of 3 No 10M3 break pressure tanks.
    • Construction of valve chambers on transmission mains distribution mains and tanks sites.
    • Construction of I No 225M3 masonry storage tanks

The project anticipates the impacts and mitigation measures set out in the gazette.
