NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR LAW REPORTING
Position: Publishing Officer (1 Position)  

Terms of Service : 3 year contract with prospects of renewal.

Salary : According to council scales

Under the direction of the Publishing Manager, the Publishing Officer will prepare document templates for the Kenya Law Reports; keying in editorial changes to the law report; developing creative concepts based on brand identity and organizational culture; and maintain content and photo archive.   

Reporting to the Publishing Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Preparation of document templates for Kenya Law Reports;
  • Keying in editorial changes to the Law Report;
  • Developing creative concepts based on brand identity and organizational culture;
  • Liaising with the printer to ensure a quality publication and overseeing the publication process;
  • Maintaining content and photo archive;
  • Providing quarterly updates on publications activity with supporting distribution statistics and samples and
  • Applying latest technologies, concepts and standards in the publication of the Council’s products.

Qualifications
For appointment to this position, the successful candidate should have the following minimum qualifications.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following Social Sciences; English, Journalism, Communication or equivalent ;
  • Knowledge of Adobe page maker and indesign software;
  • 2 years work experience in a busy environment;
  • Modern computer application skills;
  • Demonstrated leadership and team building skills;
  • ability to organize multiple projects simultaneously  and think creatively; and
  • Demonstrated outstanding professional  ability in publishing.
