Justice Asike Makhandia (1958) graduated with honours from the University of Nairobi’s faculty of Law in 1982. He was admitted to the bar in 1984, after which he worked in private practice until his appointment as a puisne judge of the high court of Kenya in December (2003). He has served as council member of the law society of Kenya, and the International Commission of Jurists where he also served as a treasurer for 7 continuous years.
Justice Makhandia is a Christian and is married with three children.
