PUBLIC INFORMATION
- The Chief Justice has designated a select bench of 39 High Court Judges and 57 magistrates to hear and determine over 180 election petitions within the six months provided by the Constitution.
- During this period, ordinary court business will be affected significantly since most of the judges of the High Court and magistrates in some stations are involved in handling election petitions. Internal arrangements have been made to ensure that ordinary court business is not unduly affected. We appeal for your kind understanding.
- The Judicial Service Commission is in the process of mitigating the effects of the election dispute resolution process by hiring more Judges and Magistrates.
