• Rehabilitating the septic tank and soak pits.
• Repairing the underground fuel tanks.
• Repairing the drive ways, walkways, acceleration and deceleration lanes.
• Repairing the Interceptor tank.
• Renovating the washrooms.

The proposed project site is located at Tigoni Centre, a few metres from the road. The land reference number is L.R. No. 11893 which is a 0.3161Ha piece of land.

INVITATION OF PUBLIC COMMENTS

PURSUANT to regulation 21 of Environmental (Impact Assessment and Audit) Regulations, the National Environment Management Authority, (NEMA) has received an environmental
impact assessment study report for the implementation of the proposed 80MW thermal power plant.

The proposed project will consist of five MAN 4-stroke medium speed diesel engines 18V48/60 and a steam turbine with a combined capacity of 80 MW, transformers, cables, switchgear, protection and metering equipment. Generation will be at 15 kV for step-up to 132 kV by a sub-station that will be constructed for the subsequent transmission of the generated electricity.

The project proposed site is along Nairobi-Thika Highway, about 38 km from Nairobi City Centre and 6 km to Thika Town. The site is on plot number L.R. 8380/2, measuring approximately 4 ha (10 acres) next to Mang’u High School and opposite Witeithie Village.

The development will be implemented in phases depending on the success of the predecessor phases and it will entail apartments, maisonettes, duplex units, community clinic/dispensary, and sewer treatment plant, artificial lake, Bus Park and many other supporting utilities.

The project is located on plot L.R No. 24605/4, Athi River, Mavoko Municipality next to sun-rose Flowers Ltd along Hill Crest Park Road (approximately 4Km from Mombasa road).

FOR THE PROPOSED RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENTS FOR
MTWAPA HEIGHTS LIMITED IN MTWAPA ON PLOT NO.
MN/III/3464, KILIFI DISTRICT
INVITATION OF PUBLIC COMMENTS

PURSUANT to regulation 21 of Environmental (Impact Assessment and Audit) Regulations, the National Environment Management Authority, (NEMA) has received an environmental
impact assessment study report for the implementation of the proposed residential development for Mtwapa heights limited in Mtwapa on plot MN/III/3464, Kilifi District.

The proposed project entails putting up:

(a) 90 units of 3 bedroom houses on four storey building in a 1.8 acres.
(b) 66 units of 4 bedroom maisonettes on a 0.0778 acres.
(c) 10 units of 2-bedroomed house and 5 shops.
(d) Club house, swimming pool.

The project is located along Mombasa–Kilifi Highway behind Coca Cola coastal bottlers which is about two kilometres from Mtwapa Town on plot MN/III/3464, Kilifi District, Current site has old building at the core used to be site office for the former four farms limited which will be demolished during project preparations.

The anticipated impacts and proposed mitigation measures are set out in the gazette.
